An Uncivilized Society?
Hello, hello--hello!
Well, here we are, a couple of weeks before All Hallow's Eve, and already it seems that the freaks are out. Seriously folks, from one day to the next, you just don't know what's going to pop out of the crazy Jack-In-The-Box box we commonly know as life. I mean, literally, from one day to the next, you just never know what's going to pop up. You think you can go on and do ordinary things that people do every single day, such as going to get your hair done or going out to lunch, and not expect to have anything happen that would end up being breaking news all over the fracking country, and yet it does. And when it does, it reminds all of us of just how too short life really is, so we must cherish every single moment we have with our loved ones.
Yes, you know about what everyone is calling the "Salon Massacre" in Seal Beach this past week, in which the crazed (and I can't describe him any other way) ex-husband of one of the workers burst into the business and open fire on eight people inside, and one man, who had just had lunch at a nearby steakhouse, sitting in his car outside. Only one person survived, a woman in her seventies who was getting her hair done by her daughter, who tragically was one of the ones who lost their lives, and she is in critical condition. All of this has been weighing very heavily on my mind, so I thought that I just had to unload it all in my blog today. You know, all this brings up the topic of gun control, which has been a very controversial political topic for many years. The liberals are for it, but the conservatives always have been against it, famously saying, "Guns don't kill people, people kill people." Well, that's partly true. Guns don't kill people. People who have guns kill people. And, more to the point, crazy people who have guns kill people. Yes, it's true. Mark David Chapman. Jared Loughlinger. Marvin Gaye, Sr. Put a gun in the hands of the unstable and it's a deadly combination.
Well, that's all the time we have for this week. Until next time, be well, stay well, and remember to help the disaster survivors!
Sincerely,
Marley Sue
