Is That All There Is?

Hello, hello--hello!

Well, it's finally over.  All My Children is off the air, and it went out with a bang.  No!  I'm serious!  It really went out with a bang!  Somebody got shot at the very end of the series.  Only thing is, we don't know who got shot. See, here's what went down.  Stuart Chandler, who was supposed to have gotten shot to death last year, was miraculously brought back to life by quack doctor David--oh, I just forgot what his last name is!--and a huge party was thrown at the Chandler mansion in Stuart honor.  Now, J.R. Chandler, Stuart nephew, lost the mansion, the Chandler business, and his ex-wife and son (to Bianca, can you believe it?!), but Adam Chandler came back and saved the day.  Meanwhile, Erica Kane, who had just gotten a huge movie deal, was in the midst of going to Hollywood to make the movie of her life, but her amour, Jack Montgomery, wanted her to stay in Pine Valley.  She thought she could make things right with Jack by trying to persuade him to go to Hollywood with him, but her refused, and as Jack was leaving the party, Erica tried to persuade Jack to say, but he told her, in one of the greatest homages to Gone With The Wind ever produced, "Frankly my dear, I don't care what you do with your life." It is here that we see J.R. in the background, with the gun, and a shot rang out, and everything went black.

And here is where I said, out loud, "That's it?  That's how this is going out?"  Kinda reminds me of that Peggy Lee song, Is That All There Is?  Well, hopefully for us AMC fans, that isn't all there is.  Rumor has it that they're bringing All My Children to the Internet, so maybe they'll pick up the story line there.  I hope so, because this show it too good to go out the way it did, and we fans are too loyal to be literally kept in the dark like that.  And I really do believe that they wouldn't have been so cruel as to keep us hanging off a cliff, if they didn't plan on continuing the story.  So, dear fans, stay tuned...

Well, that's all the time we have for this week.  Until next time, be well, stay well, and remember to help the disaster survivors!

Sincerely,

Marley Sue
