A Piece Of Cake

Hello, hello--hello!

Well, another week has come and gone, and it's been a very quiet, uneventful week, too, so there's hardly anything to talk about today.  Bootsie's antiworn medication came in the mail this past week, and yesterday, I had my teeth cleaned at the dentist.  See what I mean?  Oh well, at least it's nice and sunny outside today.

So, what shall we talk about today?  The weather?  Well, I'd just said how pleasant it is here in Southern California today.  Television?  Well, last I've heard, All My Children and One Life To Live are still canceled.  The news?  Well, last I've heard, Osama Bin Laden is still dead, although it's rumored that Al Qaeda vows revenge.  And a worker at that Fukushima nuclear plant died recently, although they say no radiation was evident in his body, according to the Times.  Movies?  Well, there's an awful lot out there to see, but nothing particularly, spectacular.  Food?  Well, we talked about it a little bit last week, but I guess that, when it comes to talking about food, we can always use an encore.

My friends and I are always having this discussion as to which is better, storebought or homemade.  They say storebought, which includes fast food, is better, because it's more convenient.  I say homemade is better, because it's cheaper.  Take, for example, something as simple as a cake.  Now, at the store where my family shops, a simple cake will knock you back at least five dollars.  But, if you buy a ready to mix box cake for about a dollar, mix it according to directions, and make a frosting out of powdered sugar, margarine, and a couple of drops of milk and vanilla flavoring, and maybe a little powdered cocoa, the whole thing would have cost you a little over a dollar!  See?  Isn't that much better than the five you would have spent?

Well, that's all the time we have for this week.  Until next time be well, stay well, and remember to help the earthquake survivors!

Sincerely,

Marley Sue
