This is Not Dorothy's Cyclone
Hello, hello--hello!
Well, it's May Day (it's also my birthday!), so, Happy May Day to one and all (And Happy Birthday to all who's lucky enough to share this great day with me!)
I'm sure you've all heard about the terrible storms and tornados which have rocked the Southern region of the United States. I've seen pictures of them on TV, in the papers, and on the Internet. I couldn't believe it. The towns that were hit looked as if they were hit by a bomb or something. I mean, whole towns were wiped off the map! Just like they were in Japan when the earthquake and tsunami hit that country! They said these were the worst tornados they've had in almost eighty years! Hundreds of people have lost their lives in this particular catastrophe, 200 or so in Alabama alone! It really makes you wonder where all of this is going to head to. Maybe to the great catastrophe of 2012, perhaps?
Well, one thing's for sure. If all of this is teaching us one thing, it's this: That none of us should take anything for granted anymore, and that we should all take stock of our lives and be grateful for what ever we happen to have, no matter how small and minuscule it happens to be. Whether it's your home or your job, or even your best friend, you got to be thankful for whatever you do have, because, as recent events have proven to all of us, from the Gulf oil catastrophe to all the earthquakes and storms that have befallen all these different places, you just don't know from one day to the next exactly what's going to happen. Life has become so uncertain nowadays, especially since the dawn of the present century, that the best we all can do is stand back a little, take a look at the big picture, and be grateful for every day that we spend with our loved ones.
Well, that's all the time we have for today. Until next time, be well, stay well, and don't forget to help all the survivors!
Sincerely,
Marley Sue
