2010--The Year Of The Worst Possible Ultra Sheen
Hello, hello--hello!
Well, I'm writing a couple of days early this time, because it's the holidays, and I'm taking the holiday weekend off. It's Christmas Eve, and I'm sure all of you are through with everything for Christmas, as I am. And now, as I'm drinking my egg nog (virgin, of course) and typing at my computer, I'm anticipating the arrival of the official Yuletide guest of honor, and I'm sure you all know who that is.
But, as we all are counting down the hours until Father Christmas (in all his world-wide incarnations) comes into our homes with the gifts we all are hoping (and praying) for, we all can't help but also count down the hours until the New Year comes. 2010 certainly was a trip, wasn't it? And I'm certain that we all would agree that it wasn't the very best year for many of us, especially those who reside in the Gulf region of the United States. The Gulf oil spill certainly was the biggest story of the year, no doubt about that, and all can agree that this story isn't over yet, even if the oil well at the bottom of the Gulf is capped and the oil stopped gushing. After all, there is the long term environmental consequences that goes along with what has happened, and the people who made their living in this region of the country has seen their lives changed drastically, perhaps permanently and certainly not for the better. Yes, this is one story that will be continued into the coming year.
And speaking of 2011, what does the future hold for all of us? That is a question everybody ask themselves at this time of year, each and every single year. One thing's for sure, is none of us knows for sure. All we can do is hope for the best, and prepare for the worst, as we do each and every single new year. True, we can hope that the coming year will be better, and not be like many of the other years, but all we can do is hope.
Well, that's all the time we have for this week. Until next time, be well, stay well, remember the earthquake survivors, and Happy New Year!
Sincerely,
Marley Sue
