And To All, A Silent Night

Ho-Ho-Hello!

Well, this is it, folks!  The moment we've all been waiting for, for one solid year!  This is the week of Christmas!  Well, it's on this coming Saturday, but that makes the waiting all the more special!  Especially since we as kids don't have any school whatsoever for the next two weeks!  Absolutely nothing to do until the New Year except watch cable, play video games, and have fun!

Of course, yuletide season isn't all fun and games and merriment.  It may have been that in the distant past, but this season has evolved into a more mellower, more reflective time in human history, a time when, at the end of every year, we take personal stock of our own lives and give thanks for what we have been given, and remember those who haven't been as lucky as we are.  This reminds me of a story, a true one, that happened a long time ago.  A young couple, in their late teens and early twenties, who came to the big city to get some personal business done.  They were homeless, and so poor they couldn't even afford a room in an inn, so they had to stay in a manger.  And the young woman was about to become a mother at any moment, and when she did give birth, it was to probably the most important person mankind has ever known, because his birth herald a new age, in which humankind would finally be free.

Get the picture?  Good.  So now you know what this time of year is really all about.  and all I'm saying is, no matter how tough things get nowadays, no matter how busy you might be this last week before Christmas, take a little time out to lend a hand, lend an ear, help out your neighbor and your fellow man, and please, be good to each other.

Well, that's all the time we have for this week.  Until next time, be well, stay well, don't forget the earthquake survivors, and--Happy HOLIDAYS, happy HOLIDAYS, while the merry bells keep ringing, happy HOLIDAYS to each and every one of you!

Sincerely,

Marley Sue
