2009--That's A Rap
Helloooooo, everybody!
Well, I hope you enjoyed your Christmas as much as I did, because I had a rocking good time! No, seriously, I did! I rocked the house down with my new Beatles Rock Star video game! Yes, folks! I finally got it! The most popular video game ever is finally mine! Can you believe it?! Christmas dinner wasn't half bad,either. We had oven roasted goose (a traditional Christmas main course) and dressing made with Stove Top stuffing and canned smoked oysters (yet, another traditional Christmas dish) and washed it all down with traditional cranberry juice mixed with sparkling apple juice. Yes, sir, this Christmas really was pretty good.
So, 2009 is just about over, isn't it, folks? So, what can you say about a year that was as eventful as this one? Well, I guess one thing you can do is, call it a rap. Literally.
2-0-0-9, was quite a year, it brought some laughs, it brought some tears,
So memorable, with all the flack, so let's take a moment while we all look back,
The year began, with the impossible dream, the first African American, it seems
Took the oath of office, for the highest job, in America, in front of a mob,
At least he had a job, others did not, they lost their jobs, when the economy went to pot,
They had to modify, some of their loans, just so that they, could stay in their homes,
Now, can you guess, how this will go? How it will end? Nobody knows!
2-0-0-9, that was a year, it brought some laughs, it brought some tears,
This year sure had, a lot in store, so, let's look back, cause here's some more.
Michael Jackson's death, that shocked the world, and Lady Ga Ga, sure rocked the world,
The adventures of Balloon Boy, made us all tense, until we found out, it was false suspense,
His father wanted to go on TV, a reality show, so he decided to take, the whole world for smooes,
Now, he's sitting in jail, for many a day, which proves to all, that lying doesn't pay.
2-0-0-9, was quite a year, it brought some laughs, it brought some tears,
"Land of the Lost," was in the movie can, but the biggest loser was the movie fan,
The reason why it stank, it seems, it was DOA, on the movie screen.
The "Transformer" bots, they fared a lot better, their movie got a "A", the highest letter.
"The Simpsons" and "Sesame Street," celebrated milestones, But "The Guiding Light," unfortunately, was gone.
"As the World Turns," will soon stop turning, and that sent daytime soap fans yearning
For the simpler days, when times were good, and soaps could shock, because they could.

We sure are glad, that you are gone, so good bye, '09, sorry you stayed so long!
