Windy Weather and Sunny Days
Hello, Hello, Hello!
Boy, this week sure did go by fast, didn't it? Just as this whole year went by so fast! Just think of it! Only a couple of weeks till Thanksgiving! And you know what that means! I don't have to tell you it'll be a hop, skip, and a sleigh ride to the Yuletide holiday season, and the new Beatles Rock Band video game I'll sure to be getting, because I'm doing so well in all my classes at school! Yes! I've finally mastered that tricky Advanced Algebra! I've never thought that I could do it, but I did it! But I'd better pipe down on the bragging, because my folks will be expecting me to do well in other facets of my life, like preparing for college, and that would leave me with little time to devote to my one true passion in life, which is pop music and playing the guitar. Yeah, I know that the more you learn, the more you earn, but it takes time, and practice, to be a very good musician.
Boy, it sure has been getting colder and colder lately, hasn't it? It sure does look like Summer has finally taken the proverbial "Last Train To Clarksville" (or the "Last Train Bound For The Coast," depending on which song you're listening to). Well anyway, all this cold weather certainly doesn't make this H1N1 epidemic any better, after all, I hear it thrives in cold weather conditions. So it pays to keep yourself as well as you possibly can during this cold and windy winter weather, as I am. My purse is so full of Halls Honey Lemon Cough Drops it ain't even funny. Some People prefer Sucretts, others prefer Store Brand drops, some prefer cherry and others prefer menthol, but it really doesn't matter. They all get the job done of suppressing a cough and scratchy throat.
Before closing up shop for another week, I'd like to give a great big shout out to all my friends on Sesame Street! Yes! They all turned forty this past week! Ernie, Bert, Cookie Monster, Grover, The Count, Elmo, and the Big Bird himself! They all turned forty this past Tuesday! Think of that! Spending forty years in the same place! What a remarkable feat! You know, if you look at it, this show lasted longer than most marriages did! As a matter of fact, this show outlived many Hollywood celebrities (lives, not careers)! As a matter of fact, this show out lived many American business (as many of today's currently unemployed would attest to)! I think this would make it television's longest running children's show of all time, and one of television's longest running daytime shows ever(behind "As the World Turns," "General Hospital," "Days of Our Lives," and "One Life To Live"). Yes, the residents of "Sesame Street " certainly have a lot to celebrate, and a lot to be thankful for, as the rest of us do. After all, it takes very special people to make a very special show so popular after all these years. And I think we all should be thinking about how much Sesame Street has meant to all of us, all of these years, during this upcoming season in which being thankful for so much is very much a given.
Well, that's all the time we have for this week. Until next time, be well and stay well!
Sincerely,
Marley Sue
