All Not-So-Good News, All The Time

Hellooo, everybody!

Well, if this wasn't a week filled with madness!  From that tragedy on that army base deep in the heart of Texas to the equally tragic goings on at that Orlando, Florida high rise, it really seems that this world has literally become a powder keg waiting to explode.  I mean, from one day to the next, you just never know what's going to happen, or what you're going to find out.  Just when you thought you've seen it all, just when you thought you've heard it all, the media Houdinis pull out another, large, ugly tarantula out of their not-so-magic hats.  It's getting so that you don't want to watch anything on television anymore other than Cartoon Network or Comedy Central, the only "safe" places to watch on television these days where you're not bombarded with the tragedy and madness that comes from the news media.

But then, of course, you know, you can't really escape reality, because reality is all around us.  The news media just happens to report it.  We can choose whether or not to hear it, but that doesn't make the bad stuff go away, really.  You just refuse to hear about it.  But it still happens, whether we want to know about it or not.  The reason why we're so afraid of reality is because reality is scary.  The fact that crazy people are living among us is a reality we all must face and deal with, and that reality is scary.  So scary that some of us really don't want to ever leave our houses, or have our loved ones leave the house, for fear of something terrible just might happen.  But it really doesn't have to be that way.

You see, just because times are crazy, doesn't mean that we have to be crazy right along with them.  And just because times are crazy, doesn't mean we can't have fun.  As a matter of fact, some of the best forms of art and entertainment was created during the most insane times in history.  Take The Diary of Anne Frank, written during one of the most darkest hours in world history, which proves to be a most descriptive portrait of what it was like to be a Jewish refugee during the Holocaust, and some of the best pop music, movies, and TV shows were created during the turbulent times of social unrest and the Vietnam war of the '60's.  As a matter of fact, a lot of people would state that this was the decade in which the Fab Four produced their finest work (present company included).  And even in today's turbulent times, we can expect to look forward to The Simpsons, Chowder, Madonna, Jim Carrey, Mariah Carey, Non Sequitur, Pearls Before Swine, CandorvilleLa Cucaracha, Lio, The Geico Gecko, The Aflac Duck, You Tube, Hulu, and, of course, your very own, Marley Sue.  So you see, even in life's most darkest hour, you can also expect to see a glimmer of light to lead the way to a more saner, and quite possibly more safer, place.

Well, that's all the time we have for today.  Until next time, be well and stay well!

Sincerely,

Marley Sue
