School Days Were Made For Chocolate
Hey, hi, and hello to one and all!
Well, it's finally here: the first day of school. Effective the day after Labor Day for my school. Well, at least we had a pretty good summer, unless, of course, you were a Jackson Fan, or a Farah fan, or a watcher of the CBS Evening News during the sixties and seventies and were a great admirer of Walter Cronkite, or a resident of Massachusetts, where Ted Kennedy was Senator for so many years, then this past summer was kind of bittersweet. Now, the present task at hand is moving on, and getting back to having to watch TV and play video games on Friday and Saturday nights only.
Speaking of Michael Jackson, he was finally laid to rest this past week, after all these weeks (It was about ten, wasn't it?). And the land here in La La Land went up like a bone dry tinder box. Over a hundred thousand acres have burned so far in the Angeles National Forrest here in Southern California. And that's not counting the other blazes that have sprung up all over Southern California this past week. Oh, well. What do you expect when you really didn't have all that much rain fall all year?
You know what would be really good right now? A good cup of cocoa. Yeah! Everywhere you look now days, you see a lot of unhappy faces, and you really can't blame them. The fires, the economy, the health care situation and and the fact that getting it for everybody just might be in peril, and how so many people whom we have loved and admired over the years are no longer with us, people are finding there's just no reason to smile anymore. A good, hot cup of cocoa can change all that. You can't imagine how much a little milk, chocolate, Splenda, Cool Whip, and a couple of marshmallows can really perk up your day, and change your whole outlook on life. I guess that's the reason why I always start my day off with a hot cup of cocoa, just as my parents start their days off with a hot cup of coffee.
I know I'm going to be drinking a lot of cocoa starting this up coming week, with school beginning again and all. I sure will need it, having to get back into the swing of things with studying and homework and all the rigid routines that go along with them. Cocoa always seems to make you forget about the world and have a little time for yourself for awhile. Maybe it wouldn't hurt if you try a little cocoa now and then as well.
That's all for this week. Until next time, be well and stay well!
Sincerely,
Marley Sue
