Classical Studying
So, it's been one week since we've last met.
Is everyone still okay?
No flu, right?
I hope not, because it's very important to stay well in these hard and trying times that we all find ourselves in. The swine flu is still in this country, with the first fatality in Texas when I last heard, so continue to be well and stay well, and keep on taking your vitamin C's and orange juice, and having a couple of extra bottles of Pruell and cans of Lysol wouldn't hurt, either.
Oh well. On the brighter side of life, summer vacation's almost here, which should be good news for all us kids, and our teachers (I'm sure they could use the extra break as well!). I haven't given much thought as to what to do in the coming summer months, although my Mom probably has a few ideas of her own. Lately, she's been talking about how the outside trim of our house needs painting. Now I'm not taking that as a message that we may be putting on painter's overalls this summer, but I'm keeping it in the back of my mind that that's probably what we're going to be ending up doing.
And what do I plan on doing this summer, other than start preparing for my college entry exams (Ha! My parents wish!) Well, I do plan on doing a little bit of studying, of the classics. That's right! This summer, I plan on watching Turner Classic Movies and studying...the classic movies. Because, as an old proverb once said, in order to know where you're going, you've got to know wnere you've been. And, if you want to know how to make good movies, you have to study how the classics were made. So that's how I plan on spending the up coming summer break, if I'm not too busy doing a little painting.
Until next time stay well, and think happy thoughts!
Sincerely,
Marley Sue
